@Joey Yes. That’s Apple’s way of encoding which is to provide the screen by stretching the ratio at it’s fullest (2.40:1), not normal FHD. They extended the video ratio so we can see it as widescreen instead seeing a normal 1920x1080px widescreen like how it’s downloaded from YouTube.
Secondly, Apple is trying to sell the video provided from VEVO. It’s not Apple doing bad advertising.

@Joey HAHAHA! You obviously never buy any videos on iTunes before. Some videos does not come in true FHD.
Below are sizes for iTunes FHD:
1904 x 1056/1080/ (other sizes)
1912 x 1072/800 (lower sizes)
1920 x 812 (lower sizes)
1896 x 768 (lower sizes)
The Frame height depends on the video but the “Frame Width” is the usual as listed.
Samuel: It does not change the situation that the video is distorted (aspect ratio 2.40:1!)
I guess you’re not used to the anamorphic format on movies, then. this is the way the music video was recorded 😉
